Among these heroes is Bethrezen, who aims to seize the star's power for himself.

The story takes a compelling turn with the introduction of 'Inoel,' a celestial messenger, who becomes a symbol of hope for Nevendaar's inhabitants. As she embarks on a journey with representatives of three ancient races, Inoel begins to experience previously unknown emotions, and the game explores her physical and emotional journey as she seeks the star and navigates the world of Nevandaar while discovering her own humanity.

A Russian-language version of Disciples III: Resurrection was released, featuring the 'Undead Hordes' faction, with various editions available. The English version launched in Europe on October 7, 2011, and in North America on February 7, 2012. Another iteration called Disciples III: Reincarnation combines the main game and expansion, featuring a new game engine and additional content. The Russian version released on April 11, 2012, while the English version became available on Steam on February 14, 2014.
